Bendigo Pottery

The City of Greater Bendigo, Victoria is located on the traditional lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung and the Taungurung Peoples of the Kulin Nation. They are the traditional custodians of this land.

Established in 1858 by Glaswegian George Guthrie, the pottery has operated continuously since 1863 at the current site, where it houses the world's most significant collection of historic ceramic wood fired kilns.

We're proud to have partnered with Australia's oldest working pottery to bring you Houndsome's premier range of stoneware dog bowls, hand-thrown by some of the country's most experienced ceramicists.

Bendigo Pottery is Australian owned and operated by Rod and Sally Thompson. Their quality stoneware clay is sourced locally, from central Victoria and all glazes are made in-house.  Wherever possible, while maintaining their strict quality standards, they act to minimise the business's environmental impact by reusing and recycling, including packing and shipping materials. Electricity is generated by solar panel installation and natural gas fires the kilns.
